COFFEE       GROUNDS.

THEY ARE GOOD FOR MORE THAN JUST MAKING THAT SWEET SWEET NECTAR OF LIFE THAT KEEPS YOU FROM MAIMING SOMEONE IN THE MORNING..!! STOP THROWING THEM IN THE GARBAGE!

Picture

☕Fertilize the flower garden! 🌷🌻🌺🏵️It is great for acid loving plants such as Roses and Hydrangeas. Used coffee grounds add nitrogen and potassium to the soil as well as a boost of magnesium which all plants need to stay healthy. Just remember that this fertilizer lacks phosphorus and calcium so it isn’t ideal for encouraging blooms and fruiting. Some flowering plants, like hydrangeas, change color depending on the pH level of the soil. Adding coffee grounds will reduce the pH level and give you bright blue flowers.

☕Throw it into your COMPOST along with your egg shells (baked and powdered is best) and banana peels!

☕Use them to dye things! Coffee and Tea are great at giving an antique look to things that are just too white for your liking. I even dyed the cloth I made my veil and cape with when I made my wedding gown because my Veil was white and my dress was a golden cream. Dye your cotton yarn, spill coffee on your nice white shirt? EFF IT! Dye the rest of it! TYE DYE something with it! Canvas, cheesecloth for crafting, etc..

☕Exfoliate! Face and Body scrub! Add a bit of coconut oil or your fave facial cleanser or body cleanser, and viola!

☕Make STUFF! Candles and Soaps are great places to add coffee grounds when you are through with them!

☕Rejuvenating Caffeinated Facial:
Used coffee grounds make an excellent facial. Mix two tablespoons of used coffee grounds with an equal amount of cocoa powder. Add three tablespoons of whole milk or heavy cream and top it off with a heaping tablespoon of honey for the perfect all-natural alpha-hydroxy and antioxidant facial.

☕Use as an abrasive add to your cleaner. Whatever may get left behind can be vacuumed up when dry!

☕You can absorb or mask odors with a can of dried coffee grounds! When done, just toss them in your garden!

☕ 🐛WORMS LOVE COFFEE!🐛 Worms are great for your garden! BUT, Unlike worms, slugs, snails, and other bugs don't like the acidity of coffee and won't cross the ground if it's sprinkled with java. So it is a 🐌GREAT PEST CONTROL!🐌 It may also deter other small animals from the area too.

☕Growing Carrots?🥕 Coffee grounds are VERY helpful with their growth and to keep pests away.

☕Fresh Cut Flowers?🥀 You can make your vase look pretty and deodorize the room at the same time! Just mix it in with soil and dampen it, then add your cuttings!

☕Make📍 PIN cushions🍅 and use it as the filling! Filling your pin cushion with coffee grounds will prevent your pins from rusting. Plus, it's like a sachet of good smells every time you use it.
Pro tip: Make sure to dry them thoroughly first by spreading them on a cookie sheet and placing them in the freezer for an hour or two.

☕Use oil and coffee grounds or instant coffee to mask scratches in many shades of wood.

☕Use it as a wood stain! Look it up!

☕Make naturally dyed🐰 Easter/Ostara 🐇eggs with used coffee grounds. (You can also use other things! We'll be covering that on this page soon!)

☕Make Dinosaur fossils with your kids!🦕 Add coffee to your favorite homemade flour dough recipe for making ornaments, have them do the imprints with their dinosaurs (We have miniature dinosaur bones too at our house)

☕Use for your watercolor needs! (and make a painting with good smells to it!)

☕❄️Icy walkways:🌬️ Dried grounds make good grit to spread on icy sidewalks. It doesn’t effect the environment and the acid helps melt the ice.

There are SO many other ways to use your USED coffee grounds out there but that is just some of my favorite!!
In other words.. STOP TOSSING THEM IN THE GARBAGE. Recycle them!

Can you think of any other ways to use your coffee grounds that we forgot? Please add them to the comments!

    When life hands you
     🍋
LEMONS 🍋

 make Lemonade!🥃

Or....

Use those lemons and rinds to:

🍋Lighten dark spots left by scars, acne, dry skin, etc.
🍋Give yourself highlights or lighten your hair while in the sun.
🍋Lighten your teeth. Mix a spoon of lemon juice in with baking soda and brush your teeth. (but only for a minute) and rinse! It will lighten them over time.
🍋Rubbing a lemon slice on a cut apple will slow down the oxidation process and keep them from turning brown. A tsp of lemon in other fruit and vegetable dishes that would normally brown will slow down the oxidization as well! (Avocados and Cauliflower for instance.)
🍋Smell LEMON to help with concentration!
🍋Add lemon to honey to soothe a sore throat or alleviate a dry mouth.
🍋Add it to your tea to aid with digestion.
🍋Add lemon to baking soda to clean your smelly sink!
🍋Clean and Whiten your nails.
🍋Add a tsp to some of your favorite dishes that just taste like 'something is missing'. It might add that extra zing you are looking for!
🍋Dry the lemon peels to add to your home-made potpourri
🍋ADD to your Compost! Some prefer not to add them or other citrus to compost because it raises the acidity, but, adding more grass clippings to the mixture will even out the levels. Citrus peels give off a strong scent, which can help keep pests away from your compost pile. Plants such as camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons absolutely LOVE acid rich soil so feel free to toss them under those!

What else could you use Lemons for? Feel free to add your own comments below!

    Mama Cool

Our family makes a lot of waste. Not on purpose! Just our day to day living can create a lot of waste because we have a lot of people living under our roof.
I will try to give you some advice that we have come up with or have been told, to reduce some of the waste by recycling, reusing, and re-purposing some of the items that would just fill up landfills when they could be used for something else!
